Rockcliffe – The Nandi pool

Rockcliffe-NandiNandi floats in a rectangular pool surrounded with Cornus controversa variegata on each corner and placed in a sunken garden with a beautiful border of Iris sibirica ‘Silver Edge’. The low curved stone walls of the pool is covered in parts with beautifully green moss and the lawn is sharply clipped  and carefully edged. A gesture against the wild and a moment of stillness in an exhuberently planted garden. Pure magic and demonstrates the need in good design for areas of clear thought and repose to balance the chaos of the world – managing the rythm of mass and space
